Hey guys! Happy Monday! As most of you know, I just got back last Monday from a long vacation! We flew into Orlando on Saturday and stayed at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort for the first time and absolutely loved it. It had a Hawaiian theme and was just stunning. We would definitely stay there again. They have so many food options, they are right on bay lake with gorgeous views, has a beautiful pool with a waterfall and waterslide, etc! We had a gorgeous view of bay lake, Polynesian's over the water bungalows, Cindarella's castle from afar, and the beautiful Grand Floridian Resort. It was breathtaking! We love staying at Disney resorts that are on Bay Lake because we love that they have water transportation to each other and to Magic Kingdom- we totally avoid the bus system lol! Our main ways of transportation are the boat and the monorail which are both super convenient. We flew out super early Saturday morning so that we could still enjoy that day in Florida. We made that day a complete pool day at our resort and it was super relaxing. After that, we drove on over to Disney Springs for dinner which is a must one night during our Disney stay. On Monday, we did a character dining at Chef Mickey's and then headed over to Magic Kingdom for the Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. During the holidays, they have special "parties" or after hours with special tickets for either Halloween or Christmas. What this means- the park closes to the public for rides at a specific time (6pm for our instance) and then the rides are exclusive to "party bands" only which is totally the way to go! We literally were able to walk onto all rides at MK without any lines! On Monday- we had breakfast at another character dining Ohana which is another favorite then checked out at our Disney Resort and spent the day at Hollywood Studios. We haddd to visit Toy Story Land and the new Slinky Dog Coaster for the first time and it did not disappoint!
Later that night, we drove 3.5 hours to check into Harbor Beach Marriott in Fort Lauderdale for the rest of the week. During our stay there, we had lots of relaxing time by the pool which was so awesome. Disney is so fast paced and lots of walking so it was nice to enjoy some relaxing time still in sunny Florida. We love this resort so much and usually visit it once a year in the fall. The pool is just so amazing and huge and has sooo many beautiful palm trees surrounding and steps from the beach. The rooms are amazing and the views of the ocean are just stunning. We always get oceanfront because it's too hard to pass up. That resort is really close to the port so we get to watch cruises and cargo ships come in and out every day and it's pretty cool to see. Fort Lauderdale is a hugeeee yacht capital and has so many amazing and jew dropping yachts parked at marinas throughout the inter coastal waterway. One thing we love to do is take the Water Taxi to dinner or just to ride on through the inter coastal. It basically works like a bus system with the stops. It has routes and stop numbers where you can get off and on at throughout the day. Another thing we did twice while we were there was to take a private Riverfront Gondola Tour through the inter coastal. This is about an 8 person electric boat that has a driver and a tour guide and takes you though the intercoastal, downtown, through canals, and more. There are some beauuuutiful homes and yachts on that waterway it is just amazing. We did a daytime route and a nighttime route and loved both! It is truly amazing to sight-see and hear the background and stories behind some of these mansions. We also love to walk around A1A which is the beachfront restaurants and shops. It has a beautiful view and is fun to just walk around. Some of our favorite restaurants in Fort Lauderdale are Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, Coconuts, Grill 66, 15th Street Fisheries, Bokampers, and for a quicker place to eat that's so good in Florida is BurgerFi. They have amazing burgers and their BurgerFi sauce is so yummy (and unhealthy LOL). Overall, in Fort Lauderdale, we did not do too much besides get on the inter coastal waterway as much as possible and lay by the pool. It was super relaxing and I did not want to leave!
I am going to share some pictures and views from both vacation spots below!
